What this does not do. No second-order amplification (AISC C2/Appendix 8) — include B1/B2 effects in the demands you enter. No web local yielding, crippling or flange bending at concentrated loads (J10). No connection design, composite action, or seismic provisions (AISC 341). Effective lengths and Cb are yours to supply, not derived. Single angles are excluded. Rolled I-shape webs are compact throughout this database, so F4 and F5 are never invoked; the tool flags the case rather than computing it. Verify anything that governs against the Steel Construction Manual.

Built from aisc-shapes-database-v160-2.xlsx (AISC Shapes Database v16.0, August 2023) — 2,299 shapes, all 80 published properties, imperial and SI exactly as tabulated. Drawings are generated from those dimensions: fillets are taken as kdes less the flange thickness at the web, HSS outside corners as 1.5 tdes so the flat widths match the published H − 3t, and S-shape and channel flange slopes as 1:6. Sections are dimensioned with AISC’s design values; where a detailing value differs it trails in parentheses, and the ( ) Detailing button under the drawing hides it. They are drafting aids for visualising a section, not fabrication drawings — verify against the AISC Steel Construction Manual before using anything here in design.
